Dry needling – Trigger point therapy

Research gives very encouraging results regarding the effect of acupuncture in many musculoskeletal conditions.

Western medicine has managed to decrypt many of the effect mechanisms of acupuncture, thus making it a vary useful tool for causing analgesia (reduce of pain), as well as treating persistent muscular problems, for example at the neck area: There the muscles that remain “tense” for long periods (increased muscle tone) caused from bad posture or due to stress, create “trigger points” (sensitivity areas in the muscle) that cannot be desensitized easily. There we can use the acupuncture needles to help desensitize these points (dry needling technic).
